HOW TO USE THINK VOTIVES
IMAGINATION + FAITH + ACTION = MANIFESTATION
Think about what it is that you want more than anything else. It could be as simple as patience, discipline, focus, or courage. Or it could be a wish such as "I am working my dream job" or "I own a home by the ocean." Remember to speak as if you are already living in your desired reality. Use the words "I am" or "I own" as opposed to "I want to be" or "I want to own." Don't act as if you "want." Act as if you already "have." Whatever it may be, write these thoughts on your candle label. Then, you can use the attached affirmation card to list the details specific to your vision.

USING YOUR CANDLE AFFIRMATION CARD:
Affirmations are your mental tools. They are short, powerful statements which allow you to reprogram the way you think. Choose words that deeply resonate with who you are and what you believe. Repeating them on a regular basis will help to eliminate any negative thought patterns you have created in the past, replacing them with messages firmly rooted in power and strength. As you continue to feed your mind messages of positivity, you will begin to notice a shift not only in your attitudes and beliefs but also in the experiences that show up before you.

People who seek specific goals often need a little inspiration getting started. Your Think Votives candle includes an affirmation card offering you a space to write down your own positive thoughts. Positive thoughts help to inspire growth and change. For example, let’s look at my own goal of success. If you choose to write the word “Success” on your candle label, you need to have a clear vision of what success means to you. Part of my vision has to do with becoming an effective teacher and communicator. I need to ask myself the steps I will need to take and who I will need to become in order to create this best version of myself.
The back of my affirmation card may look something like this:
-
A positive attitude attracts success
-
I inspire people to be great in whatever they do
-
I listen fully when others speak
-
I act with confidence
Make sure that your affirmations are spoken in the present tense. You need to act as though these things are already happening, already here and done. Using the present tense will help remove any doubt that you will have what you want. When you see it as already done, this is called faith. So instead of saying “I want to act with confidence” say “I act with confidence”.

USING WOODEN WICKS
The first burn:
The first time you light the wood wick it will burn itself down to the correct length, about 1/8" (quite short and that's perfect), and may most likely put itself out. Once cool, knock off any loose charred debris from the wood wick. IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE CHARRED EDGES THE CANDLE WILL NOT STAY LIT. THE BLACK SOOT WILL SMOTHER THE FLAME.
Light the wick for a second time.
When lighting the wick, keep your lighter over the wick for an extended time melting the wax around the wick. Remember it is the wax that is burning and not the wick, so the wax needs to be melted just a touch during lighting. It may take up to 20 seconds and two to three tries for the wick to catch fire as it requires more time for the fire to penetrate the wood. This is why we recommend using a lighter versus a match. The initial burn of a candle is going to set the course of how it burns for the rest of its lifespan. The first burn is critical. Let it burn for a few hours to melt the wax pool all the way to the sides of the jar. If you do not let the entire top layer burn, you’ll notice the candle start to “tunnel” as you use it more and more.
Additional candle care:
Wood wicks burn much shorter than your standard cotton wicks, as such, if it's on fire let it burn!
Should you feel that the wax is drowning the wood wick you can blow the candle out, use a paper towel and soak up some of the melted wax and then relight the candle.
IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE CHARRED EDGES EACH AND EVERY TIME YOUR CANDLE WILL NOT RELIGHT AND STAY LIT.
Why we choose to use wood wicks:
Burns longer - Wood wick candles burn longer than traditional cotton wicks. The wider, shorter flame of the wood wick allows the wax to be consumed at a slower rate.
Ambiance - Wood wick candles provide a crackling sound similar to a fireplace as it burns.
Sustainability - It takes much more water to grow cotton than wood. The sustainability of wood wicks is measured through the Forest Stewardship Council.
Scent - Wood wicks burn hotter than cotton wicks which leads to a better scent throw filling your room with scent faster.
